Radio Historical Association West

On Saturday, May 9, 2015, the Southern Jutland Radio Museum was visited by the Radio Historical Association West. The association naturally wanted to see the new initiatives that had been made at the Radio Museum, but the purpose was also to take over some of the many radios that the Radio Museum has in its storage.

The Radio Museum receives a large number of devices every year, and the Radio Museum handles these donations in the following way:

If the device is in better condition than the equivalent one at the Radio Museum, the new device will be used as a replacement for the old one.

If the device is not included as a replacement for a similar device in the Radio Museum, but is still in good condition, it is placed in storage with the aim of being given as a gift to an interested collector.

It should be noted that the Radio Museum does not receive money for these devices.

If the devices are in very poor condition without any particular technical value, they are transferred to the wire basket at the recycling center.

If fine devices are received that the Radio Museum does not own, they will of course be included in the Radio Museum's exhibition.

The day started with a visit to the Radio Museum, and afterwards there was lunch in the student lounge "Mojn" in the basement of EUC Syd's dormitory.

After lunch, the discussion continued in "Mojn" with a joint discussion about the renovation of cabinets, and the Radio Museum contributed in this context with a presentation from the museum's chief curator, Per Hebelstrup.

The day ended with the participants reviewing and selecting devices from the Radio Museum's storage, which, according to estimates, meant removing approximately 200 devices.

A good day for the collectors and a good day for the Radio Museum.

Pleasant get-together in "MOJN"
There is talk of the old devices
